Frequently Asked Questions

Distance Reiki follows the same principles as in-person Reiki, but without the need for physical contact or proximity.
At its foundation is the belief that universal life-force energy connects all living beings, regardless of distance. Through meditation, focused awareness, and traditional Reiki techniques, practitioners work with this energetic connection to help clear blockages, encourage relaxation, and support the recipient’s natural healing processes.
Within Reiki traditions, energy is not considered limited by physical distance. Whether your companion is across town or halfway around the world, the same Reiki principles apply.
Your animal can remain comfortably at home, continuing their usual routine while the session takes place.

Once you’ve booked your session, you’ll be invited to share some information about your animal, including their name, a photograph, and any particular concerns you’d like me to address.
Shortly before your scheduled session, I’ll send you an email letting you know I’m about to begin. I’ll then enter a meditative state and use traditional Reiki techniques to offer healing at a distance, focusing on your companion’s individual needs.
There’s nothing you or your animal need to do. No video call, physical contact, or special preparation is required. Your companion can sleep, play, eat, or simply continue their normal routine while the session takes place.
When the session is complete, I’ll send another email to let you know we’ve finished. I’ll also follow up to discuss the experience and any observations or changes you may have noticed in your companion.
-
Nope. You and your animal or animals can go about their day as normal. Distance Reiki can be just as effective when the client is chasing a squirrel,m playing pickleball, or catching up on much-needed sleep.
-
Absolutely. Reiki and distance Reiki can be performed on any animal, no matter the size or species.
-
No. You do not have to be present during your animal’s distance Reiki session.
-
All we need is a name, a photograph, and any information about the animal’s medical history and current mental health and physical health, especially any concerns you might have. If you’re getting the companion session, a current photo of you would be helpful.

● Calmer behavior: Less restlessness, softer body language, or appearing more settled.
● Physical signs of relaxation: Stretching, yawning, sighing, or settling into a comfortable position.
● Increased affection: Seeking closeness, reassurance, or companionship.
● Changes in energy: Some animals appear more restful, while others may seem particularly alert or playful.
For People
Recipients commonly describe:
● Deep relaxation: A greater sense of calm and relief from everyday tension.

That’s perfectly normal, too. Some experiences are subtle, and others may not involve any noticeable changes at all.
There’s no particular sensation or response you or your animal need to have during or after Reiki. Simply continue your normal routine and pay attention to how you and your companion are feeling.

-
Of course! There will be an additional charge for each added animal.
-
Absolutely. Reiki is a complementary healing practice that can be used alongside conventional veterinary care, not as a replacement for it.
Whether your companion is recovering from surgery, managing a chronic illness, coping with pain, or simply growing older, Reiki offers an additional avenue of comfort and support throughout their journey.
Veterinary medicine addresses your animal’s medical needs, while Reiki takes a holistic approach to their well-being. The two can work alongside one another, allowing you to support your companion in different but complementary ways.
